Hello Pinecrest Neighbor!
The Pinecrest Community Association Board of Directors circulates a list of reminders each year to all residents of the neighborhood.
The Board is a group of volunteers who manage the affairs of the neighborhood according to our Covenants, Bylaws, and other obligations.
In this letter, you’ll find a list of helpful reminders including resources available to you and ways to be a good neighbor; information on our third annual Dumpster Day, what to do if you’re interested in serving on the Board.
Reminders
Lawn Maintenance: Regular mowing and maintenance of front and side yards is encouraged. Athens-Clarke County (ACC) city code limits allowable grass length to ten inches.
Grass Clippings: Do your part to protect the waterways and pond in our neighborhood by keeping grass clippings off the street and pavement. Grass washes from these areas into our stormwater retention pipes and can cause clogs and flooding, as well as distribute yard treatment chemicals into nature where they will cause harm.
The Dumpster: The dumpster behind the apartments at the front of the neighborhood is not for us to use. It’s privately owned.
Parking Policies: For safety, please park with the flow of traffic whether you park in the regular-width street or in a cutout. Please follow ACC parking policies when parking. For instance, parking in a yard is illegal.
Parking in the Cutouts: The neighborhood is safer when you park in the cutouts instead of the regular-width streets. It’s completely permissible to park in front of someone else’s house (just don’t block a mailbox or driveway). The Community Association has no authority over street parking, so we encourage neighborly discussions and compromises regarding parking.
Dog Poop: Please pick up your dog’s poop at any time your dog defecates – especially on other people’s property.
Leaf and Limb Pickup: ACC comes through the neighborhood regularly to pick up leaves and limbs from yard work. We are in Zone 2, and you can see the schedule and learn more at accgov.com/leaflimb.
Bulky Waste Collection Service: Athens-Clarke County created a large trash pickup service called Bulky Waste Collection. Items like furniture and appliances are eligible to be picked up, and your first four pickups per year are free. Learn more at accgov.com/11635/Bulky-Waste-Collection.
Dumpster Day
When: Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 8:30AM – 3:30PM
The Board is happy to announce our third annual Dumpster Day for all Pinecrest residents. We’ll have a dumpster parked on Pine Bark Lane on September 19 and available to have items deposited from 8:30AM until 3:30PM.
This is for household goods only. Prohibited items include but are not limited to: sand, stone, rock, gravel, tree stumps, medical waste, pharmaceutical waste, hazardous waste, toxic substances, batteries, tires, liquids, paints, fuels, and oils.

The Pinecrest Community Association is the Homeowner’s Association for the Pinecrest Neighborhood, and the Board of Directors is a group of volunteers who manage the business of the neighborhood according to the Covenants, Bylaws, and other obligations.
