Fall 2023 Newsletter

We circulate this annually. And yes, we know, some will say it’s stale or redundant. But, people come and people go – our population changes from one year to the next. We are all human beings and we need all need reminders as a result of our nature. So here are some offerings based upon what others have told us and our own personal experiences.

  1. Grass: Mow it on a regular basis so it doesn’t look like a “bad hair day.” We know it’s a tiring job, yet we get tired of writing reminder letters. And while you are at it please don’t leave the clippings in the street. Rainfall delivers them to the river and they wind up in what becomes another person’s drinking water, along with all the chemicals.
  2. Trash bins: After pickup, remove and return to a place around the back corner of your house. Please don’t leave them out on the street for more than a day.
  3. Warning: The dumpster at our entrance on Cedar Rock Trace, behind the apartments, does not belong to us. Dumping trash there is a trespass and constitutes a misdemeanor offense.
  4. Stop Signs: A slow, rolling pass does not constitute a stop. We have been told about and observed several unwanted close encounters.
  5. Speed: The 25mph signs represent the maximum safe speed. If conditions warrant, you should slow down. One example is the blind curve at the Cedar Rock Trace entrance.
  6. Parking Guideline I: Don’t park on the grass or the curbs, don’t block the sidewalks, and don’t block traffic. These are public streets, not community-only streets.
  7. Parking Guideline II: Park in the direction of the flow of traffic, instead of against it. When you begin driving from the incorrect side, you are already against the flow of traffic and most cars lack the safety reflectors present on the rear.
  8. Parking Guideline III: If you see a vehicle parked illegally or blocking the sidewalk, call the local police non-emergency number: (706) 613-3345. Don’t assume only the Community Association Board Members will do this, as we don’t check every day.
  9. Pet Owners: Please pick up your pets’ fecal deposits. We can provide a “Please Pick Up After Your Pet” sign for anyone in the neighborhood who asks, while we have extras.

Respectfully,

Your Community Association Board
